Another experience with a cat
Although I cannot define the timeframe in which this took place, I would say it was perhaps several months before we moved. I say this because of Tony’s action and how out of character it was for him. His frame of mind was the worst just before we moved, so I am assuming this was one of the events that was leading up to the level of hatred and strong emotions he felt before we left. It is very hard for me to be very descriptive here as I am a lover of cats, but it is an event that needs to be share. This is of a very disturbing nature, so I warn you now.
It took place one morning after Tony came home, again working the 3rd shift. It was after 9:00am as had already left for work.
Tony had apparently poured a bowl of cereal and milk, left it on the wood block that sat in the middle of the kitchen and turned his back to do something. When he turned back around, there was a strange cat drinking the milk in his bowl. It was not either of our two cats, and he is unsure of how it actually got in the house.
This put him in such a rage, that without hesitation or thought, he picked up a knife and stabbed the cat, pinning it to the wood block. In fact he describes the fact that he actually left it there for quiet some time because he wanted me to find it. Eventually, he changed his mind and cleaned up the mess, as I knew nothing about it for quiet sometime.
This event is significant because Tony is a very gentle soul by nature. Not to mention that in knowing how I love cats, he never would have given in to harming one.
Although this action was so unlike him, I believe it was an early sign (one that I had not known about) that illustrated the hold or influence that the negative energy of the house had on him.
Thinking back, I can't help but wonder, if we would have stayed much longer in the house, would his feeling that something was going to harm me actually happen. No matter how much he loved me, would it have been at his hand?
