Report by Renae Leiker :
My husband was to arrive at the KCI airport that evening (Friday). Jerry and Jennifer had tickets for the trolley for that evening. Since we were all in the area we scheduled time at the Sallie house. After picking up my husband we went over and meet up with Jerry and Jennifer.
This was the first time that my husband Allan had been to the house. I suppose I have left out some important information that will help explain the event I am going to relate. While Allan was out of town I had been trying to talk with the ghost I had found at our own house.
Before leaving our house I asked him if he wanted to go to a haunted house with me. While on my way to the airport I had turned on a recorder and asked if he was with me. Although very difficult to hear with the road noise I thought I heard his voice. Once I had stopped at the airport I asked again and still faint I was pretty sure he was with me.
Once we had the equipment up and running Jennifer and Jerry took off for the haunted trolley ride. Allan and I sat down in the living room. Snap, Snap, “did you hear that”? Allan looks up and I said my little sweetie is here. “Hi Paul, I heard that, is that a whip you have there”? Snap. “You probably know him already but I would like for you to meet my husband Allan”.
I asked again for him to crack that whip and right on cue, snap. Can you do that again? I didn’t hear the second snap but within seconds afterward I heard the horn honk on our van outside. I just knew it was Paul and made the comment to Joanna she has her hands full with that one. She agreed with that one. Mean time I look over to see Allan feeling around to see where his keys are. He said I wasn’t moving I don’t know how I would have honked the horn.
“Allan you are sitting in the living room of a haunted house and I was just talking to someone that died at least 140 years ago, he was a child slave”. “I promise that you didn’t hit the button on the van remote”. I went out to prove that the van was not locked and that it didn’t honk as a result of being locked.
On the way to the van I remembered Russ the ghost from home. Oh how rude of me I didn’t tell him we were here but surely by now he just follows me around. Thinking he had probably followed me home from this house I really wondered if he wouldn’t have already known we were here and that he should have just come in with us. When I opened the door I said yes the door is unlocked and Russ if you have not already come in please do.
