Report by Jerry Talbert:
This was going to be the first time that our group had investigated the Sallie House for an entire weekend. This was going to be a very special weekend. It was near the Spring Equinox, and we were going to have many visitors to join us. The first visitor was Michael and he was from Chicago. We had not met him yet, but Renae had been in contact with him by email and suggested that we should meet him. Renae and I had been joking about what may happen on Saturday. We had two psychics coming as well as the Pickmans. We didn't know if the doors would all slam shut or just blow off their hinges. Come to find out, we weren't very far off.
When I first arrived I thought that I had arrived at the house before Renae. But when I entered the house I saw Renae's equipment laying about the floor as though she had only just arrived herself.
It was then that I met Michael. His thick hair swallowing up his face and showing what appeared as a three-day stubble, looked suitable to play the Wolfman in some low budget horror movie. He was a nice enough person and was there to try an experiment of his own. We conversed for a couple of hours before we set up our equipment and shortly thereafter we headed out for some food.
When we returned from eating, our next visitor was waiting for us. Her name is Melissa. She is involved in another group, but she wanted to do an investigation with us at the Sallie House. It was now around 7:00 p.m. and we were all just talking when the Pickmans arrived.
That night we were in great hopes to investigate another house and we had tried in vain to contact them. Liz had done some research into the house and we were excited to meet her and to exchange information. Finally, we had reached her and we were informed that unfortunately the investigation would have to be at another time, but she wondered though if she could join us later. It was approaching 9:00 p.m. by the time she called. Moments before her call, Tony was casually walking around the house seemingly unconcerned about prior events. While standing near the living room window, someone noticed that there was a patch of blood coming from his scalp. Upon closer inspection, a small laceration could be seen.
Tony had no idea that he had been scratched.
Around 10:30 p.m. Liz had finally arrived and we were all sitting together in the living room of the Sallie House when our next event took place.
It was now near 11 p.m. and Liz had been pretty settled down in her chair, when an odor overwhelmed us.
It was a sickening-sweet, floral odor that hovered near the doorway to the kitchen back into the living room. The smell was contained in that location and never went into the kitchen or upstairs. After many pictures and 20 minutes, the smell dissipated. After a brief period the smell returned for a minute or so only to disappear completely. We had never had this incident before or after this date. But the surprises were just beginning, as we were soon to find out.
