Finally I am two blocks away from the house turning left on Second Street when my cell phone rings. Must be my husband I haven’t given out my number to very many people but as I go around the corner I don’t see anything on the screen at all. I let it ring again and on the third ring I have pulled over and stopped by now and there is still no display, no name nothing but the backlight was on. I answer and of course there is nothing but static on the line and it went silent. I look up to see just how close I am and can see the flag outside the Sallie house.
When I arrived at the house I checked for the last call and there was nothing recorded since my husband called twenty minutes earlier. No record, nothing. I looked up at the house and just smiled. Was that a warning? Childs play? Hey it was interaction of sorts so maybe they were ready to talk even more. Maybe they know now that we can hear them.
We actually reviewed and played several of the clips to see if it would bring them around or get a response. We talked about some of the other things we had heard so they would know that we were trying hard to communicate and if they wanted to talk we would listen and respond.
After our last visit we hoped the EVP would continue to come as easily but it was like they had all calmed down. It was just Jennifer, Jerry and I on this particular visit. We attempted to talk with who ever was there and I asked about the comment that had been made before about how they could “Swallow your soul”. We got no response through EVP to any comments made about it.
Most important was that we would tell them that we heard them and even play some of the recordings so they could listen. Maybe we just needed to explain what we were doing to make them feel like they were a part of what we were doing.
It was also about this time in our investigation that we listened again to some of the growls and hisses and thought there was a chance that some of it was the play of a child, who we heard near the mother so often.
Was it possible that some of the EVP we thought indicated a crazy woman may have been misunderstood? We decided there was reason to think some of the sounds were just sound effects from children playing games. The EVP that made us re-think what we might be hearing was the EVP.
We took this EVP, slowed it down and it sounded just like a little boy making the sound of his ever ready “finger gun”. We still thought there were some recordings that couldn’t be explained that way but we quit using the names “mommy dearest” and “crazy woman”.
The EVP we got really gave us little proof that they were actually listening or interested in what we were doing this time. It was a little disappointing after the activity the time before when things seemed so active. What was it they had reacted to so strongly? We heard several references to the “witch’s” or psychics that were there. Is that what had them so uptight?
People ask; are you obsessed with the house? I don’t see myself as being obsessed with the house. I have a lot of questions and think we have the chance to answer a lot more of our questions if we just keep going back.
